“As the Director of Music of The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth (Royal Band), I have had the honour of working with a number of guest vocal soloists but never has it been such a pleasure as when I performed with Danielle at The Battle of Atlantic Commemorations in The Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool on Saturday 25 May 2013. Her incredible talent is obvious and she clearly has the most fabulous singing voice but what impressed me most was the way in which she interacted with my Band and I – her professional approach to both the rehearsals and the performance was simply outstanding. In today’s busy world, rehearsal time is difficult to find and so rehearsals must be used efficiently and that is where Danielle excelled – her prior preparation of each song was clearly meticulous and this allowed her to fit in with the Band quickly and with ease. Everything about Danielle is first class and I believe Liverpool should be very proud of her – I just hope that we, the Royal Marines Band Service, get the opportunity to work with her again soon.” Captain Pete Curtis
"Danielle is an exciting young singer of great accomplishment and huge potential; she has interpretive powers way beyond her years and a vocal and musical flexibility which enables her to perform music of all periods and styles with great aplomb." Prof. IAN TRACEY
"The Band of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment recently had the privilege of working with one of the most talented, yet modest, mezzo sopranos in the United Kingdom, the delightful Danielle Louise Thomas. Danielle agreed to perform with the band at our annual Proms In The Park Concert for free in support of three charities, The ABF - The Soldiers Charity, St Rocco’s Hospice and The Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball Foundation For Peace. She performed many pieces during the evening including Pie Jesu and Time To Say Goodbye. Her vocals were so pure and precise yet enchanting and emotional whilst capturing the true spirit of the music and the moment in time. Danielle was the consummate professional and an absolute pleasure to work alongside both in rehearsal and on the concert platform.
We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Danielle for giving up her valuable time and for all that she gave both for the charities involved and for her beautiful voice to be appreciated by so many people.
In short she is a striking vocalist with an endless talent and we are positive that she will go on to bigger and better things becoming a household name and a national treasure."
